- March: Salvatore's Tomato Pies takes a lease on the former Pizza Oven in Monona[2].
- December 19: Angelo's, 5801 Monona Dr., closes after 30 years[3].
2021
- August: Salvatore's Tomato Pies closes its East Johnson Street store; it reopens for about nine months in 2022[4].
2022
- The east side Uno, the last in Madison, closes[5].
- May: the original Roman Candle, on Williamson Street, closes after 18 years[6].
- August: the Regent Street Rocky Rococo closes[7].
- Paisan’s closes on West Wilson Street[8].
2023
- January: Yelp names Novanta among the top 100 pizza places in the United States and Canada[9].
- February 2: It’s Good for You opens on North Sherman Avenue[10].
- February 4: the last Roman Candle, in Middleton, closes[6].
- February: Yelp names Grampa's Pizzeria Wisconsin's most romantic restaurant[11].
- Spring: the East Towne MOD Pizza closes[12].
- October 2: Dough Boy’s Pizza opens in the former Falbo Bros Pizzeria at Northgate[13].
2024
- January: Glass Nickel Pizza expands its Atwood Avenue restaurant[14].
- March 20: the Fitchburg MOD Pizza closes with a day's notice[12].
- April: Rocky Rococo is 50 years old[15].
- About this time Pizza Supreme opens on Raymond Road[16].
- June 15: Anna Alberici closes the Greenbush Bar and sells it to Sam Brown; it reopens on August 14[17][18].
- July 5: Lone Girl Tap and Pizza opens on East Washington Avenue[19].
- Pizza Pit opens stores in Cambridge and Milton[20], and is the State Journal readers' choice for best pizza, as it is again in 2025 and 2026[21].
- December 13: Molten Monkey Pizza opens at 912 E. Johnson St.[22].
- December 20: Roger Brown sells the last of his Rocky Rococo restaurants[15].
2025
- February: Zafferano Ristorante opens in Fitchburg; its butter chicken pizza becomes its best seller[23].
- June 28: the University Avenue Novanta closes[24].
- The South Park Street Falbo Bros closes[25].
- By August: the Odana Road Pizza Pit has closed[26].
- Late October or early November: One Social Food Hall opens at 123 E. Wilson St., with the Neapolitan pizza stall Palio[27].
- Cafe La Bellitalia on North Sherman Avenue closes[25].
2026
- February 28: Porta Bella closes after 58 years, and with it the plan to reopen Paisan's[28].
- July 1: Frank & Andrea opens at 435 N. Frances St.[29]
- July 23: the Madison Public Market opens, with Cervato Pizza[30][31].
- August: the west side Glass Nickel announces a move to Middleton[32].
- August 26: Pedone Pinsa is due to open in the Discovery Building[33].
- Summer: Ian's Pizza's largest store, in Verona, is due to open[34].
- October 31: Ian's Pizza is 25 years old[34].
