Jimmie Schiavo’s
Jimmie Schiavo’s was an Italian and American restaurant at 3115 E. Washington Ave., at Highway 30, then in the Town of Burke. It opened in the spring of 1955[1][2], and by 1957 it advertised "Complete American and Italian Dinners, Pizza"[3].
History
In May 1955 Robert Bidgood and James J. Schiavo applied to the Town of Burke for a liquor license at 3115 E. Washington Ave., for the premises "known as Bob's Twin Gables"[1]. By June 19 Jimmie Schiavo's was advertising spaghetti and steaks and "Madison's Largest Lazy Susan on Wheels"[2].
When it closed has not been found. Because the restaurant was outside the city, it does not appear on Madison's license lists. By 1977 James J. and Anthony J. Schiavo held a city license for Bee's Tavern at 1109 S. Park St., the later Antonio's[4].
Pizza
Pizza was on the menu by April 1957, alongside complete American and Italian dinners[3].
