The owner who opened Cafe Porta Alba in 2006 and closed it in 2019 was Vincenzo Pugliese. Nick Mattioli was his head chef before Novanta, and his partner in it.
Reopened in November 2009 across from Sundance Cinemas with 58 seats and a new $12,000 Italian-built oven (900 degrees in 20 minutes); pizza menu unchanged, with pasta, gnocchi and panini added; the Alpina (walnut puree, fontina, mushrooms) a signature.
