Hunt Brothers Pizza is a family-owned company that sells pizza through counters inside convenience stores and corner markets. Don, Lonnie, Jim and Charlie Hunt founded it in 1991. In 2026 the company said it had over 11,000 locations in 33 states[1]. The stores run the counters themselves, so a Hunt Brothers is not a franchised restaurant. In Madison there is one in Pinkus Market, a 24-hour convenience store at the corner of State and North Lake streets.

History

  • The corner storefront at 673 State St. was the UW Bookstore Digital Outpost in 2007 and 2011 and a 7-Eleven in 2019. By October 2023 it was Pinkus Market, which did not yet show a Hunt Brothers sign. By June 2025 a Hunt Brothers Pizza sign hung in the State Street window[2].
  • April 28, 2026: Pinkus Market posts "Delicious Pizza" on Facebook, with a photo of its Hunt Brothers counter[3].
  • October 2026: the counter is still listed, and Pinkus sells its pizzas for delivery as "Pinkus Market – State St"[4][5].

Pizza

Every pizza comes with any of ten toppings at no extra charge. The Original Crust is a self-rising 12-inch crust with the cheese spread to the edge. It is sold whole or as a "Hunk A Pizza", a quarter of a 12-inch pizza. There are also a thin crust, a Loaded Pizza and a Breakfast Pizza[6]. In 2026 Pinkus's delivery menu priced a pizza and the 12-inch breakfast pizza (cheese, eggs, bacon and sausage) at $14.99 each, alongside bone-in and boneless wings[5].

Locations

  • 673 State St., inside Pinkus Market: from between October 2023 and June 2025[2]; open in 2026[3].
