1018 N. Sherman Ave. was the North Side store of The Pizza Oven, and then another pizza shop with the same telephone number.

Timeline

  • By November 1978 to at least October 1985: The Pizza Oven[1][2]. It was run by Dennis and Jeannette Domenget[3].
  • By January 1988 to at least April 1990: Mama D's Pizza[4][5]. It was hiring delivery people in February and December 1988[6][7], and Muriel LaRose reviewed it that August: take-out and delivery only, free delivery within three miles[8].

Trivia

  • Mama D's Pizza kept The Pizza Oven's telephone number, 244-0434[9]. Whether it was the same owners' shop under a new name has not been established.
