Angelo Fraboni reopened his former Colonial Inn as a pizza parlor in Sept. 1990 'to fill what he considered a void in the neighborhood'; sold to Patrick Augustine in 1997 (with Karl Krug by 2000, adding pasta, a Cajun night and a fish fry) and to its bartender Travis McGuigan in 2017; closed Dec. 19, 2020 after 30 years when COVID kept its older clientele home.
In Nov. 1994 a 12-inch Angelo's Favorite with five toppings was $8.95 and the spaghetti and meatball dinner $4.95; that Christmas Angelo Fraboni showed his Dickens Village collection, with a railroad train, in the basement and gave the tours himself.
'Angelo's Pizzaria & Pasta' in the 1995 Yellow Pages: 'Hand Tossed Pizzas Our Specialty', the White Pizza a 'new sensation', a no-smoking dining room and a children's library.
1995: the restaurant's lot had 36 parking stalls, 11 of them threatened by Monona's Monona Drive turn-lane plan (Feb.); the Capitol Chordsmen barbershop chorus sang there after Thursday rehearsals (June); it hired wait, bar and hostess staff all of Aug.–Sept. Angelo Fraboni died Oct. 4, 1995 and the family kept the restaurant until 1997.
