Madtown Pizza was a pizzeria at 912 E. Johnson St. from about June 2011 until late 2014, between Supreme Pizza and Salvatore's Tomato Pies at the same address.

History

Kelly Grant and Rita "Kay" Cerniglia bought Supreme Pizza in November 2010 and planned to reopen it under the new name[1]. Two couples, Joe and Kay Cerniglia and Frankie and Kelly Grant, opened Madtown Pizza about eight months before its February 2012 review, after overhauling the room with new black-and-white floors. The sauces came from Joe Cerniglia's Sicilian mother; Kelly Grant ran the counter and Frankie Grant made the pizzas. It was open evenings only, with limited delivery for a dollar more[2][3].

It was still there in August 2014, when Salvatore's announced it would take over the space[4], and had gone by December 4, 2014, when Salvatore's opened in "the former Supreme Pizza spot, which until recently housed Madtown Pizza"[5].

Pizza

  • Thin crust, "the superb thin crust that stands out", with a sprinkling of Parmesan on the edge. Four specialty pizzas, spaghetti, mini-calzones ($2.25) and six subs; a 20-inch pepperoni was $18.24 and the 12-inch Mad Veggie Eater $12.59[2].
