Lone Girl Tap and Pizza, also called the Lone Girl Taproom, is the Madison taproom of Lone Girl Brewing Co. of Waunakee, at 1817 E. Washington Ave. It opened on July 5, 2024, in the former O'so Brewing tap room[1]. Beer comes first, but the only food on the menu is its own Roman-style pizza[2].

History

Lone Girl Brewing opened in 2016 at 114 E. Main St., Waunakee. Its owners are Kevin and Kerry Abercrombie and Paul and Tammi Kozlowski[3]. The licence for "The Lone Girl Brewing Company – Madison Taproom LLC, dba The Lone Girl Tap and Pizza" went before the city's Alcohol License Review Committee on May 15, 2024, and the Common Council on June 4[4].

The taproom is in The Marling building, a short walk from The Sylvee and Breese Stevens Field. Kevin Abercrombie said the space allowed for counter service, "a low-labor business model"[2].

Pizza

  • Roman-style: rectangular, with a thick but light and airy crust[1][3], cooked in an impingement oven[2]. Roman-style pizza isn't served at the Waunakee brewery[3].
  • Eight pizzas in 2024, among them the Spicy Pepp (spicy pepperoni, red onion, goat cheese, hot honey) and caramelized pear and blue cheese with candied walnuts and arugula, both $17[2]; a Hawaiian BBQ with pineapple and goat cheese; and one with burrata and prosciutto[1].
  • Sausage, pepperoni and cheese are also sold by the slice[3].

Trivia

  • The taproom pours 16 Lone Girl beers and four guest taps. On Packers game days, each penalty flag thrown during the game gets a raffle ticket drawn for a free beer or other prize[2].

Locations

  • 1817 E. Washington Ave. (July 5, 2024 to present).
