From Madison Pizza Wiki
David P. Wilson (1951–2000) owned Supreme Pizza at 912 E. Johnson St. from 1984 until his death.
Wilson was born on October 29, 1951, in Watseka, Illinois, and grew up in Wayne, New Jersey. He took a degree in chemical engineering at the Stevens Institute of Technology in 1974, but "worked throughout his life in restaurant management"[1]. "Look at his resume. He never did anything but make pizzas ... I think he started at 14. He was a real pizza pro", a friend of the family said[2].
He was killed early on Sunday, September 24, 2000, when a car struck him as he rode his bicycle in the 3000 block of East Washington Avenue. He died at University Hospital, aged 48[3].
Trivia
- Although Supreme Pizza had nine employees, Wilson was usually there from 9 a.m. until 2 a.m., and made all the dough, the sauces and the lasagna himself[2].
- His obituary describes him as an avid gardener who loved animals, motorcycles, rock festivals and pool[1].
