5003 University Ave., at Whitney Way, is the west side store of Glass Nickel Pizza.

Timeline

  • October 1999: Glass Nickel Pizza planned to open its second store here on October 1, "next to the Taco Bell". It was owned by Tim Archer and Neil Spath[1].
  • February 12, 2016: a fire did about half a million dollars of damage, and also damaged neighboring businesses in the strip mall[2].
  • June 1, 2016: reopened, with 25 seats and counter service. The owners were then Noel Johnson, Katie Bracey and Neil Spath[2].
  • August 2026: the store announced a move to Allen Boulevard in Middleton, probably in 2027. The site is to be redeveloped for apartments[3].
