2916 Atwood Ave., just west of South Fair Oaks Avenue, is the east side restaurant of Glass Nickel Pizza and the headquarters for its franchises.

Timeline

  • Before 2001: a saloon, "for as long as anyone can remember"[1]. The building also held a laundromat and a barber shop[2].
  • 2001: Glass Nickel Pizza moved here from 2049 Atwood Ave., at first for carryout and delivery only. The founders bought the building with Matt Christensen of Christensen Construction[2].
  • February 2002: liquor licence applied for by Madison Dough Boys Inc.[3]
  • About September 2002: the dining room and two bars opened, including a basement bar called the Dime Store[1].
  • January 2024: the restaurant expanded into the former laundromat next door[2].
