The phone number 238-5588 was in 1978 classifieds: a west-side fast-food carryout for sale ('Owner retiring', May–June; 'MUST SELL due to poor health', Sept.–Oct.), then help wanted for a 'Pizza & Deli business' (Nov. 1978) and a 'West-side pizza and sandwich carry-out' (March 1979). These suggest the shop, probably Doug's, was sold in 1978 and renamed, but the 1978 ads do not name the business.
