3 N. Park St. is the corner of Park and Regent streets, at the edge of the old Greenbush Italian neighborhood. The State Journal called it "Spaghetti Corner"[1], and in 1980 Sunny Schubert called it "hallowed ground for pasta lovers," with Italian food on the corner "continuously for the last 50 years"[2].

Timeline

  • 1930s to 1950s: Bunky’s, Vito and Ninfa Capadona's Italian restaurant, with pizza pie one night a week in 1952–53[1][3][4].
  • By 1963 to early 1979: Pino’s, run by the Capadona family[5][2]. In 1971 a new building went up, with Pino's in the basement and the Bunky's music club upstairs[2].
  • 1979: Nona's, "formerly Pino's," still selling the 14-inch Pizza del Pino[6].
  • By 1980: Madonna's, owned by Paul Cuccia and David Paltz. Its specialties were Sicilian pan pizzas, which took 45 minutes to make[2].
  • By 1982: Pino's again, with Pizza del Pino on Thursdays[7].

Later occupants of the corner have not been traced.
