437 State Street stands where State, Broom and Gilman streets meet. It held four pizza businesses in succession; in the 1950s and 1960s the address was usually given as 435 State St.

Businesses

  • Carlo’s (by 1958 to 1964), Carlo Caputo's carry-out and pizza place, "Carlo's Pizza Parlor" in 1964[1][2].
  • Gargano’s Pizzeria (1960s to January 1984[3]). Biagio Gargano sold the restaurant before he opened The Monastery in November 1980[4]; Gargano's and Aunt Ruth's left the building about a year before Noble Roman's arrived[5].
  • Noble Roman’s (January 1985 to 1986)[5][6].
  • Peter Depesto's (by October 1986), with Noble Roman's old telephone number[7].
