Pizza King was a pizza house at 454 State St. in the early 1960s.

History

It held its grand opening in November and December 1960. The Daily Cardinal ad promised "17 different varieties"[1], and the State Journal ad read "GRAND OPENING of Madison's Newest Pizza House! — PIZZA KING", open seven days a week, 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. The State Journal printed the address as 434 State St.[2] In 1961 it ran help-wanted ads, including in August: "YOUNG MAN to learn pizza baking. Apply Pizza King, 454 State St., after 4 p.m."[3] Nothing later has been found.
