Sold pizzas at farmers' markets and events from 2016, at the Northside Farmers' Market on Sundays from 2020. Wood-fired 12-inch pizzas bake in 90 seconds in a blue-tiled oven labeled "THE MICROWAVE".
Announced in 2021 as Mio Fratello ("my brother"), to open at 521 N. Sherman Ave. by April 2022.
The name comes from Alessandro Monachello's first English phrase after he moved from Sicily: "it's good for you," which he applied to everything. Flour and tomatoes come from Italy, the mozzarella from Wisconsin. The teal wood-fired oven, nicknamed "The Microwave", reaches about 1,000 degrees and bakes a pizza in about a minute.
Its 5,000-pound blue-tiled oven was imported from Naples; the pizzas use fior di latte mozzarella and crushed San Marzano tomatoes, and a new trio of specialty pizzas rotates in every three weeks (2026).
