Virginio "Gino" Gargano, 72 in 2013, from a Sicilian lemon-growing family; a U.S. citizen since 1968. He believes he served Madison's first stuffed pizza, in the 1970s.
Virginio 'Gino' Gargano, Sicilian-born; apprenticed with a chef in Italy, came to Madison to join his older brother Biagio; started Giuseppe's with Biagio in 1962 and opened Gino's across the street from 540 State St. in 1963 (Prager, 1989). The 1996 license agent 'Virginio Gargano' is the same man.
