Tomato pies in the Trenton, New Jersey manner: the sauce goes on top of the cheese.
Football-season Packers pizzas: the Lambeaughini (2023) and the Lombardi (2024: cheese curds, jalapeños, pepperoni, hot honey).
In March 2020 Salvatore's sold a $12 16-inch one-topping "community response pizza" for the duration of the emergency. In 2022 it refused Grubhub, which had listed its menus without consent; a $22 pizza cost $38 there.
A November 2022 Thanksgiving guide lists three stores (Monona, Sun Prairie, Livingston St.) and leaves out Johnson Street; a State Journal story the same month says DePula owned four.
In 2015 Salvatore's scrapped a planned Verona restaurant to expand in Sun Prairie, and began making its own sausage with Ian's Pizza — about 400 pounds a week, using Uphoff kurobota pork.
Patrick DePula bought the 121 E. Main St. building in December 2015 (ousting La Tolteca) and hired John Jerabek and Beth Pieters. The Sun Prairie restaurant appeared on the Big Ten Network's "Campus Eats" in October 2016.
From 2018 the East Johnson Street store had an exclusive delivery partnership with EatStreet; general manager Andrew Park said the logistics of in-house delivery were formidable.
In August 2014 Salvatore's planned two restaurants: East Johnson Street, then a 3,000-square-foot flagship with a full bar on the Hyatt parcel along Highway 151 in Verona (dropped in 2015).
Developed frozen 10-inch pizzas at its Monona commissary in 2020–21 (vegetarian at first, until a state meat license); they were sold at I/O Arcade Bar and Lark Market in Janesville.
