"Since 1941" points to the family's DiSalvo's at 810 Regent St., licensed to Cosmo Disalvo in 1941; no pizza has been found in that restaurant's ads.

Before 1961 it was Stephen Carvello's Chicken on Wheels, merged in 1960 with the Coney Island (314 State) as Caranotes, Inc. Sam DiSalvo bought it in 1961 and kept the delivery name. Ads ran from November 1961 to May 31, 1968, when it offered perch, chicken, shrimp, pizza, sirloin steak and spaghetti, open daily from 5 p.m.

In September 1968 it reopened "after complete remodeling" as DiSalvo's Villa Tap, a bar with pizza and sandwiches (257-0300). Sam DiSalvo died Dec. 31, 1976; the Villa Tap license at 306 State was still renewed in 1977.
