5706 Raymond Rd. is in the Meadowood Shopping Center on the southwest side. It is where Pizza Pit and Pizza Extreme came together.

Timeline

  • By January 2000: Pizza Pit, one of the seven company stores that closed on January 19, 2000[1]. It was to reopen under new owners on February 14[2].
  • March 2000: advertised as Pizza Extreme's "new westside location opening soon"[3].
  • 2009: Pizza Extreme's main dine-in restaurant, newly remodeled, and "both a Pizza Pit and a Pizza Extreme"[4].
  • January 2017: Los Atlantes, a Mexican restaurant, opened here. "There was once a sit-down Pizza Extreme in the same location"[5].

Trivia

  • Jim Meyer, the owner of Pizza Extreme, began his career in 1979 at a Pizza Pit in the same shopping center. The 2009 article places that store "a few doors" from the Pizza Extreme, so the Pizza Pit and the Pizza Extreme may have been neighboring storefronts rather than the same one[4].
